Q&A: Kim Kardashian

Since she's been dating New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush, Kim Kardashian has made it to the sports pages in addition to the gossip pages. The star of E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians will also appear at Wrestlemania XXIV this Sunday. She recently chatted with SI.com's Jimmy Traina about these things and more.

SI.com: You and Reggie Bush have been dating for a while now. How'd you guys meet?

Kardashian: We met through friends. Matt Leinart is one of Reggie's best friends and he introduced us.

SI.com: Reggie has already made a couple of appearances on Keeping Up with the Kardashians this season. Was it hard to get him to agree to be on the show? I've heard that he's not crazy about all the attention.

Kardashian: He hates the paparazzi, but he's such a big part of my life that you can't not be on the show if you're in my life. I'm glad we filmed the show during his season, because he was only on every now and then. The only times he was on the show were on the few occasions he was home in L.A. Plus, I didn't want to make it the 'Kim and Reggie Show,' and have him on all the time.

SI.com: You said that Reggie hates the paparazzi. How bad does it get for you guys?

Kardashian: We try to be super low key. We know if we go to an event, we're gonna be photographed, but he'll still say "ugh, I don't want to go."

SI.com: Funny, I just used a picture in our Caught in the Act gallery that sort of shows that.

Kardashian: Yeah, he's usually OK at events. He really only gets annoyed when we're out and about and we get followed. There's this really funny picture of us from Sundance a couple of months ago. We were walking down the street and he had this look on his face. He was mouthing to me, "I'm gonna knock one of these paparazzi out. And I was just smiling. And I have to tell him to calm down because he'll get in trouble if he does. That was our first time at Sundance and we didn't know it was going to be paparazzi central. That first day was so hectic and crazy and he was like "Where's the car, we're getting the car." But we were just going a block away.

SI.com: OK, I have to ask a very hard-hitting question that any self-respecting journalist would ask.

Kardashian: Uh-oh.

SI.com: Do you like the nickname you and Reggie have been given: The Bush and The Tush?

Kardashian: We laugh at it. It's definitely funny. Sometimes my family calls us Kush, but The Bush and The Tush is better.

SI.com: Did you go to any Saints games last season?

Kardashian: Yeah, I went to almost all of them.

SI.com: You did a good job of staying out of the spotlight, unlike Jessica Simpson. Are you aware that Jessica Simpson is not too popular in Dallas these days because Cowboys fans perceive her as a jinx?

Kardashian: I know. I think that's so sad and so wrong. I definitely took a very quiet approach to it. We made sure I'd sit far away so I couldn't be seen. Jessica was pretty visible and out in the open, which is definitely fun and a better way to watch the game, but I could've easily gone through what she went through if I didn't make it a point to stay in a box.

SI.com: Tony Romo has taken some abuse, too.

Kardashian: Yeah, and I think if Reggie was on the show more than he is, people would try to find something wrong with that and say he's trying to be too Hollywood and he's not focused on football. But his No. 1 priority is football.

SI.com: Are you OK with that? Most women want to be their boyfriend's No. 1 priority.

Kardashian: Ummm, well, I definitely think we get along because my work is so important to me right now and football is so important to him, and I motivate him to want to be in New Orleans and train and be with the team. So we both know what's important.

SI.com: Were you a football fan before you started dating Reggie?

Kardashian: No way. And even now, I'm a Saints fan and I'm a Reggie fan. I'm just becoming a football fan.

SI.com: I had a feeling that was the case, so I wanted to test your football knowledge.

Kardashian: Cool, go for it.

SI.com: How many points is a touchdown?

Kardashian: It's six, and then if you hit the field goal, it's seven.

SI.com: Close enough. It's actually called an extra point, but we'll give you that one. Do you know how many points a field goal is?

Kardashian: That's three, right?

SI.com: Yes. Good job. Do you know the name of Reggie's position?

Kardashian: Of course. Running back. This is how I remembered his position, because I couldn't remember it for a long time: Reggie Bush is RB. Running back is RB.

SI.com: Very impressive. Do you know how many yards a team needs for a first down?

Kardashian: OK, I'm guessing. It's either four or 10.

SI.com: It's 10.

Kardashian: I thought it was 10. I was going to say that first. I sit in the box and the other wives explain everything to me and I knew it was 10.

SI.com: Will we see you and the wives sitting in the box on an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians?

Kardashian: I don't think we can get that cleared. They're awesome. They know every foul and everything under the sun. When I first started going to the games, I would either wait for the cheer or the boo to see what the foul means because I had no idea. But the wives have taught me a lot. But mainly throughout the whole game, I'm just into Reggie and I watch him with binoculars to see if he gets any touchdowns or to see if he gets injured. Those are the two things I look for.

SI.com: Your stepdad, Bruce Jenner, is a big part of the show. He appeared on the 1976 cover of Sports Illustrated.

Kardashian: We have that issue of Sports Illustrated hanging in our house. And we have the shirt, shorts, socks and shoes that he wore in that cover photo framed.

SI.com: So what will you be doing at Wrestlemania this Sunday?

Kardashian: Actually, I have no idea.

SI.com: I had heard that you were hosting a "BunnyMania Lumberjack Match" that involves four of the WWE Divas.

Kardashian: I'm hosting something. I think I may do some commentating, too.

SI.com: If there was a four-way tag team match between you and Reggie, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker and Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo, which team would win?

Kardashian: Are you kidding? Reggie and I. Have you seen his body?

BRUCE JENNER, THE "CONSERVATIVE" PARENT: You haven't had an invitation like that in years.

KING: How did this start Bruce, this show?

B. JENNER: Right here. We started looking at a lot of the reality television shows on the air -- and I've done lot of different shows throughout the years. We kind of looked at our family and ours was so much more interesting than, you know, than what was going on a lot of television shows.

KING: Did you take it to the network?

KRIS JENNER, "THE KARDASHIANS": I took it to Ryan, and he thought it was a great idea. Ryan Seacrest; he's our executive producer.

JENNER: By the way, how are your jeans?

KING: They're fine.

JENNER: He wanted me to ask.

KING: He bought it right away?

K JENNER: He took it right away and E! loved it and then Bunah Murray (ph), our production company got on board. We're so lucky to have such a great team. It's all about the team.

KING: You like it, Kim?

KI. KARDASHIANS: We definitely have a good time. I think one of the reasons I was so excited to do a reality show was there are so many stereotypes of what Hollywood kids are like. And we party all night and we shop all day and we have a store called Dash and we work every single day at our clothing store. And I think we were excited for people to see what we're really like. We have jobs.

KING: Do you like it, Courtney?

KOURTNEY KARDASHIANS, "THE KARDASHIANS": I love it. I think it's fun, but it is long days. And during the hard times, it is sometimes, you know, hard to have -- know that cameras are there.

KING: And you, Khloe?

KHLOE KARDASHIAN, "THE KARDASHIANS": I love it. I feel like it's brought us closer together in a way because, you know, before we'd be at the store, then kind of separate and do our own things. But now we're forced to be around each other.

KING: No boys in this family?

KI. KARDASHIAN: We have a brother, Robert.

KING: Is he in the show?

KI KARDASHIAN: Yes, he's 21.

KING: Why didn't you bring him?

KI KARDASHIAN: He's at USC at college right now.

JENNER: I didn't want to let him out of class.

K JENNER: A lot of people remember my ex-husband, Robert Kardashian, as the attorney in the O.J. Simpson trial. Well, it's coming up on the anniversary of his death. It's been four years. And every year, we get together with the kids and the family and we go to his favorite Armenian restaurant, the Carousel.

Hey, guys.

KI KARDASHIAN: We haven't really gone as a family as a while, so to honor my dad, this is the best place and the best thing that we can do.

KING: Robert Kardashian was a pretty good friend of mine. Here's a clip from his appearance on this show in October of 1995. Watch.

ROBERT KARDASHIAN, OJ SIMPSON TRIAL ATTORNEY: My ex-wife and I have a very good relationship. We have four wonderful children. And I share the children every other week with her, and we've got an excellent relationship. She does believe O.J. is guilty. And I've always said that he was innocent.

KING: Did that change before he died?

K JENNER: I feel like it did, you know. I found a lot of peace and a lot of conversations that we had, you know, that -- I feel like he, you know, at the end of the day, you know, it was sort of, came to agree with Bruce and I.

KING: You knew Nicole, too, right?

K JENNER: Yes, very well. She was one of my dearest friends.

KING: How old were you when your dad died?

KI KARDASHIAN: 23.

KO KARDASHIAN: I was 24. KH KARDASHIAN: 21 or 20.

KING: He's very vivid in your mind, right?

KI KARDASHIAN: Yes, definitely.

KO KARDASHIAN: Definitely.

KING: You must miss him a lot.

KH KARDASHIAN: Every day.

KI KARDASHIAN: Every single day.

KING: Were you jealous of that, Bruce?

B JENNER: No, Robert was a good man. I liked Robert a lot. We actually had a very good relationship and --

K JENNER: You used to play golf together all the time.

B JENNER: We played golf together. I have to admit in Robert's case, a lot of people, because he was on O.J.'s side, he was like the bad guy that helped him get away with something, and the bag and all that. Robert was really a good person. He was great to his kids. He was an extremely good father. And we got along very well together.

KING: All right, do you think that we'll ever resolve this whole O.J. thing? Do you think so?

K JENNER: No. I don't think so. I mean, I think it's kind of, you know, done as far as, you know, except for public opinion. But I think that, you know, he's been tried twice. And, you know, we just -- I just, in my mind, we all have to move on, so we leave it alone.

KING: With did you pose in an intimate way for something on the Internet in.

KI KARDASHIAN: For playboy. ?

KING: yes.

KI KARDASHIAN: Playboy was something that, of course, I was nervous at first about it. But after talking to Hugh Hefner and he told me that my idol, Marilyn Monroe, was on his first cover, it was really inspirational to me. And I thought, you know what, with the support of my sisters and my family, they let me know -- I might not have this body forever.

B JENNER: I voted no, but I got totally out-voted.

KING: What did you vote.

K JENNER: I voted yes.

B JENNER: She wanted to do it with her. KING: What you vote?

KH KARDASHIAN: Whatever makes Kim happy. I didn't think it was anything terrible and I thought it was done really tastefully. So I was supportive of it.

KI KARDASHIAN: I had control over it. You see these stick- skinny models on the covers all the time.

KING: There was an intimate sex tape, though, right? Are you ashamed of that?

KI KARDASHIAN: Of course you're ashamed of that. You know, I have my whole family that is now thrust into this drama, and it's all my fault. I have little sisters that I have to answer to and explain thins to. You know kids hear things at school.

KING: What did you think about it?

B JENNER: I was really ticked off, to be honest with you. It wasn't Kimberly's fault for even doing the video in the first place. It was a very personal thing. It's all about the character of the people you're hanging out with. She sued, won her lawsuit, but unfortunately, once it gets on the Internet, it's kind of gone nowadays. It's a different world, Larry.

KING: You're passed it now?

KI KARDASHIAN: I'm definitely passed it and I'd like to move on from it.

KING: Why do you think it's doing so well, Bruce?

B JENNER: It's shocking to me.

KING: You don't believe it.

B JENNER: I've been doing this a long time. Why is it interesting? I think because, you know, the family, it's a loving family. Do we have a lot of drama, are a lot of things happening? Yes there are. But, you now, in the end, it always comes out that we are a strong family, a bonded family, a loving family and we always make up at the end.

KING: Did you have any trepidation, Khloe, about doing a reality show?

KH KARDASHIAN: I personally did. You know, I feel like we're more private at a time, but my mom --

K JENNER: Not anymore.

KH KARDASHIAN: My mom loves attention and positive attention and she was always really for it.

KING: You went along?

KH KARDASHIAN: I went along with it, why not?

KING: What did you feel, Kourtney?

KO KARDASHIAN: I felt like if one person in the family was doing it, we all had to do it. But I was probably the most doubtful, I would say, out of everyone. Just because I'm like a business woman. I like to run my stores and kind of keep to myself. But there was no getting out of it.

KING: People recognize you on the street now?

KO KARDASHIAN: A little bit. I kind of am working a lot in my store, so I'm not really --

KING: Were you in favor, Kim?

KI KARDASHIAN: Yes, I was because I wanted people to see what we were really like, instead of what people thought and different stereotypes. I think it definitely put an end to all that.

KING: Is it booked for any amount of time?

B JENNER: It's finished ten episodes. It's been great. Doing television and everything for so many years, it's just been great working with my entire family. It's been a real fun experience. You know, you do shows on your own and you go and go to work. Here, even though the cameras are there and it's very intrusive, it's been great to watch the kids grow. It's been a lot of fun. KING: You've never had that before have you, in your career?

B JENNER: No, I've never --

KING: Watch them Sunday night and another episode on April 4th. We call that one what?

K JENNER: "E True Hollywood Story."

KING: That's where they do your biography.

B JENNER: That's scary. I'm watching that, Larry. I haven't seen it yet.

KING: That you don't control.

KIM KARDASHIAN: No.

I feel so old. I knew her as the girl from the singing group 3LW and from a 2006 movie she did. I was going through my hard drive for Jennifer Peña pictures (I have a website for her too) and I found a picture of Adrienne and Jennifer together. They were in the movie "All You've Got". I actually think they look a little bit alike.

Maybe not from that pic but when I was watching the Rob and Adrienne episode, I kept thinking, "Wow she looks a lot like Jennifer with much lighter hair."

Kim was spotted wearing an "Obama is my home boy t-shirt" @ Lax on March 13. Of course some fans know that she wore an Obama t-shirt long before he even won ANY primaries. So she isn't jumping on the bandwagon.

Kim said that every guy she's dated since her high school days has cheated on her (not Reggie!)

The View interview was more insightful than any interview she has ever done. Thanks to Barbara Walters, of course. She has known the family for a while because of the OJ Simpson case. Kim revealed that she used to call OJ, "Uncle OJ" and they were also close with his wife Nicole so it was tough on them to pick a side. Background info: Robert Kardashian (Kim's dad) was a part of OJ Simpson's defense team. Later Robert Kardashian expressed doubts about OJ's innocence.

Kim and family were on Ryan Seacrest doing an interview. Here is an excerpt regarding Kim and Reggie:

Khloe: Reggie used to be the most boring person I’ve ever met in my life.

Kim: He’s just really shy. He’s really shy.

Khloe: Yeah, but we're not shy, so when Kourtney and I first met him, Kourtney and I must have freaked him out and tortured him. We were like, "You need to be young and hang out and, like, talk to us! Like, why won’t you talk to us?" I mean, we were also a little drunk at the time.

Kourtney: I told him he was as boring as all the plants that were around me. But now we love him.

Kim: Now he calls you guys, trying to go out. And you guys are so boring.

And if you've seen the previews on E!, you know that Reggie WILL be on the show.

Kim did a short interview with TV Guide. Here is the best part:

TV Guide: Are you surprised by how much attention your butt gets?

Kardashian: Seriously, it's insane! Have people not seen Armenian women before? And then the rumors that it's fake? Who gets butt implants?! Just [recently] in a magazine, they said that I had my nose, lips, cheeks and boobs done. Watch me take my bra off and you'll know I haven't had my boobs done! [Laughs]

The more I hear of the butt implant rumor, the more ridiculous it gets! She doesn't have butt implants! LOL.
